Welcome to Frøbel

Frøbel is a national institute of Early Childhood and Social Education, focusing on social work, professional care and teaching. The college is the oldest in the world which still functions within the field of pedagogy/social education. The college opened in 1885 as a college for pre-school teachers.

Today, we educate pedagogues, social workers and teachers to conduct hands-on professional work in a wide range of pedagogical settings such as nurseries and pre-schools as well as many other welfare facilities, e.g. after-school arrangements, youth clubs, residential homes, homeless associations, mental health care and facilities for people with all kinds of special needs.

We live in the heart of Copenhagen in a newly renovated beautiful building full of student life and  exciting activities.

Frøbel is part of a larger organisation, UCC, a college that offers professional bachelor degrees in many different fields such as social education, nursing, physiotherapy, teacher education etc.

Internationalisation is a key focus area for Frøbel. Each year we send many of our own students abroad and each autumn we receive students from all over the world who come to participate in our international course.
